Auction Money at Work

Our spring auction exists to fund vital programs and initiatives to make Withers Elementary a vibrant, world class learning environment.

What has our auction funded over the past 6 years?  Teacher training, classroom supplies, the Accelerated Reader school-wide reading program, gym and outdoor equipment and student activities.

Funds from the 2016 event were used to fund field trip experiences and to modernize our computer lab to meet the needs of students and teachers!

Funds from the 2015 event were raised to revitalize the school’s main lobby and hallways to reflect our vibrant, engaging learning community! In addition we were able to fund field trip experiences for each grade level including a two night outdoor learning experience at Sky Ranch for our 5th grade class and a 4th  grade day trip to Austin to visit our State Capital.

Funds from the 2014 event were dedicated to two key areas: field trip funding and revitalized playground areas. What a difference you made! The crumbling blacktop is now a multi-sport concrete court, holding 2 full size basketball courts, pickle ball, backboards, picnic tables and more. Through the generosity of our Withers PTA, we are also adding a new shade structure. Our field trip funds made exciting educational experiences possible for all grades. What a memory for many of our students who have never been away from home!

One of our proudest achievements is the renovation of the school’s 50 year old library through the funds raised in 2012 and 2013.  Initial estimates determined that a 3 year time line was necessary for raising sufficient funds.  But, through tremendous fundraising efforts at Withers Takes Flight, support from the DISD offices and amazing parent volunteers, the project was completed a year ahead of schedule.   Click here to see the Dallas Morning News’s June 3, 2013 article regarding this project.
