The supplies are offered at a significant discount and will be delivered to your child in his/her classroom on the first day of school!

Withers Health and Wellness Fair

Thursday, March 21st 5:30pm – 7:00pm

Come to Withers Thursday evening for a free event with exhibits, demonstrations and health screenings. Free immunizations for eligible children from the Immunization Care Van, information from Metroplex Dental, North Texas Poison Control, Advance ER, Parkland Mammogram Bus and more!  Also information on classes from the YMCA, Little Gym, Amy’s Studio of Dance, Jazzercise, Karate and many other fun summer events.

The annual Park Cities Ford/Lincoln Driven to Give test drive day will be Friday, April 14th.  This is a fun and easy way to earn big bucks for Withers!! More details as the date gets closer.

Parties will be held in each class on Friday, February 10th at 2pm! Be sure to sign up to bring food, sweets or games for the kids!  




Save the evening of February 3rd for this fun event showcasing all the talent of our Withers students. The show will be held at E.D Walker and will begin at 7pm.

Dads’ Club Caroling, Classroom Holiday parties and Early Release

The short day will be packed with holiday fun, starting with the Dads’ Club caroling at 8:00 am, classroom parties at 10:30 am and release from school at 11:55am! 


Entries can be within visual arts, music composition, film production, literature, photography and/or dance choreography categories. All entries are due by November 11th.

Students will learn about the dangers of drugs and the benefits of being drug free through fun, educational activities.

Poster CONTEST: Create a Red Ribbon themed poster and bring it to school on MONDAY, OCTOBER 24th to be entered into a contest to win a prize!!

MONDAY“Red Out Day”: Wear as much red as possible to kick off Red Ribbon Week
TUESDAY – “Follow Your Dreams – Stay Drug Free”: Wear your  pajamas to school (must follow district code, no slippers please)
WEDNESDAY – “Drug Free and wacky from Head to Toe” : Wear wacky clothes and crazy hair
THURSDAY – “Team Up Against Drugs”: Wear your favorite team’s jersey/shirt
FRIDAY – “Super Heroes DON’T do drugs!”: Dress up like your favorite superhero

Go Get It Week is September 19th-23rd

Monday 9/19:  “Believing is Achieving” – Staff members will wear graduation cap/cap and gown and tell about their college experiences.
Tuesday 9/20:  “Magic Number” – Students will create a classroom/hallway display depicting the year they will graduate from high school.
Wednesday 9/21:  “Hats Off to Higher Education” – Staff and students will wear a hat with a college logo. (District College Fair is 5:30-8:30pm at Ellis Davis Field House)
Thursday 9/22:  “Dress for Success” – Students will dress up as their future career.
Friday 9/23:  “Off to College We Go” – Staff and students will wear apparel from their favorite college.

Student Fundraising for the Wildcat Prowl is happening now through September  23rd. Get your page set up now and send it out to all your generous family and friends!

Taking the first step in training is sometimes the hardest part. So we’ve provided a weekly plan to help you get started. Get out those training shoes…and we’ll see you at the Prowl on September 24th!

Thursday, August 25th:  Parent Orientation
Computer lab and lobby reveal starting at 5:30 PM! 
Please make every effort to attend our Parent Orientation on Thursday, August 25th.  At 5:30, we will unveil the new and improved Lobby and Computer Lab.  Come see the amazing renovations!  The Parent Orientation meeting will start promptly at 6:00 pm in the auditorium with classroom breakout sessions beginning at 6:30 and 7:00Due to our space constraints in the auditorium and our desire to make this meeting efficient, we request that you do not bring your children to this event.

Friday, August 19th is Meet The Teacher

Please plan to attend Meet the Teacher, Friday, August 19 from 4:30 pm – 6:30 pm.  This is a great opportunity for your child to meet their teacher and be familiar with the location of their classroom on the first day of school.  In addition, if you did not pre-order school supplies this is an opportunity to drop those off prior to the start of school. Dads’ Club will have Withers Spirit Gear for purchase and there will be information about After School Care now provided by the YMCA.

2016 Wildcat Prowl is coming up!
The groovy Wildcat Prowl 5K and Fun Run is about 5 weeks away and there’s still lots to be done! From Train2Prowl, to sponsorships and even registering for the race, now’s your chance to help make our event a success! Click here for more information

Accelerated Reader Reminder
We know our Withers kids have been reading all summer!  Don’t forget to take AR quizzes and earn 15 points by August 22 to receive a special surprise when school starts…
Quizzes can be taken here.

The website is available 7:30-4:30 Mon – Fri just like during the school year. There is no reading level requirement – all books count!  Take the quiz, get at least 85% of the questions correct, and earn 15 points.

Register Now for our NEW After School Program provided by the YMCA!SAS The Y Is Coming
There will be a change in the after school provider for the 2016-2017 school year.  The YMCA curriculum is designed around project based learning that supports the whole child. It is phenomenal program that will provide an enriching after school option for students and parents. Click here to enroll your child(ren) before school starts.
