Boo Hoo Breakfast
When: 8:15 am, after drop off on Monday, August 28th
What: This is a chance for pre-k and kindergarten parents to shed a tear (or do a happy dance) after dropping off their kids at the “big kid” school. Come have a morning snack and meet other parents!
WT White Homecoming Parade
Where: The WT White parking lot
What: Withers Elementary will have a float in the WT White High School homecoming parade. Leading up to the event, students and their families are welcome to help in float construction and decorating, and students may either be in the parade with the float, or cheer on their fellow students along the route. Keep an eye out for more details about float decorating needs and times. The Homecoming game is the following evening.
Dads’ Club Back-to-School BBQ
When: September 1st at 5pm
Where: Glen Cove Swim Club
What: Bring the whole family and join us for the annual Dads’ Club Back to School BBQ and Swim Party. We’ll have the pool to ourselves so come and catch up with old friends and make some new ones while your kids splash around.
Wildcat Prowl 5K
When: Saturday, October 7th
Where: Race starts and ends on Alta Vista behind the school grounds.
What: This is part of the Withers Wellness initiative. Come help support our school and our community by getting healthy!

Where: Withers Courtyard
What: Get outside and come help us clean up the garden!
Where: Front lawn and teachers’ parking lot
What: This is the Dads’ Club fall fundraiser. Come out and bring the whole family for games, food, a bounce house, classic cars and lots of fun. This is a great chance to get to know other families at the school and show the neighborhood what a fantastic school we have. Come run and then have some fun!
Where: Withers Courtyard
What: This is a chance for your students to show off their school to their grandparents. Breakfast pastries, coffee and juice will be provided. The event will run until 7:45, when students will need to report to their classroom. The book fair will be open, so grandparents who want to purchase a book for their grandchild, or their grandchild’s classroom, can do so at this time.
Where: E.D. Walker Middle School Auditorium
What: Come see all the talent that abounds at Withers! The Variety Show is a chance for our students to show off their talents. Try outs are required, and students may perform individually or as a group.
Reflections Art Show
What: The Reflections Art Show is a gallery of student artwork that has been submitted for the District-wide Reflections competition. A panel of judges made up of members of the community will select winners from our school that will go on to compete at the next level. Details about tryouts and art submissions will be sent home in Monday folders and be announced via PTA email blast.
Take Your Family to School Week
Where: Various locations throughout the school
What: This is a week for families to get involved in the fun at Withers. Lots of fun activities all week, ending in the big family party: Paw Paw Palooza on Friday evening. Keep an eye out for more details in February.
Paw Paw Palooza
Where: Auditorium, Cafeteria, Classrooms, and Gymnasium
What: This is the mid-winter fund raiser and school celebration. There will be silent auction items in the auditorium including gift baskets and naming rights at the school (ie “Willie Wildcat’s Library”), and the ever popular “Principal for a Day”.
Withers Auction, Spring Fund Raiser
Where: Frontiers of Flight Museum
What: This is the BIG fund raiser for Withers each year. The night features food from local restaurants and bakeries; silent auction for lots of great items from local vendors; a giant raffle for gift cards and more; a live auction full of one-of-a-kind experiences; “Parties to Go”, dancing; beverages; and lots of adult fun. We hope to see you at this fun event!

Where: At school, especially in the garden
What: This is an opportunity for the students to appreciate our relationship with our planet through activities exploring farming, recycling, and other earth friendly activities. Students will learn ways to help keep our planet clean, work in the Withers garden, and attend an on-site farmer’s market.

What: This is an opportunity to show our faculty and staff how great they truly are! Withers loves our teachers!!!!
Where: At school
What: This is a unique day at Withers, where students create art and are introduced to speakers that support the theme from the art department. Each year’s activities are unique and provide a creative way for students to explore many facets of the art community.
Where: At school, especially outside
What: This is a fun filled day devoted to outdoor sports and activities. Students will participate in traditional field day activities like tug-o-war and sack races, in additional to other exciting games and activities. Volunteers make this day a success, so mark you calendar to get in on the fun!
